Football Journey
Jose Romero is a football analyst, coach, and former student-athlete with a lifelong passion for the sport. Fluent in both English and Spanish, his career has spanned various roles, each contributing to his reputation as a knowledgeable and dedicated figure in the football community.
Romero’s journey in football began in De la Salle Cancun. Playing for the Huracanes since the age of 4. Romero moved to Arizona to continue his football career enrolling and playing for Mountain Pointe highschool. After graduating, Romero continued his career at Glendale Community college and graduated in 2013 with his associates degree. After finishing his community college career Romero enrolled at the University of Arizona, where he excelled as the starting long snapper for the Division 1 Wildcats from 2014 to 2015. Romero was honored to be selected as the team captain for the Homecoming Game in 2015, a testament to his leadership and performance on the field. Academically, he graduated Summa Cum Laude with a major in Spanish and a minor in Business Administration, later earning a Master’s in Education to further his personal growth and development.
From 2016 to 2020, he served as an Assistant Coach at Mountain Pointe High School, specializing as a Special Teams Coordinator and developing quarterbacks, receivers, and linebackers. His coaching career continued at Desert Vista High School from 2018 to 2019, working with both Freshman and Varsity football teams.
